Chairman
Joseph’s professional journey features key roles as an administrative officer and research director. He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nairobi, along with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Joseph is currently serving as the acting CEO of Microfinance at Winds of Power Society ltd. In addition to his role, he has received training in Strategic Management and Leadership, Risk Management, and Sustainability and Growth Strategies.
AHMED ABDI DAGANE
Treasurer
Ahmed has a solid foundation in Environmental Management and Environmental health and Management. He has over a decade of experience in operations management within the energy sector. Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management from Busoga University and a Diploma in Environmental Health and Safety Management from the University of Athena Global Education. He began his career with WWF-Kenya, focusing on the Lake Naivasha Conservation where he was involved in payment for ecosystem services, forest conservation, and land use management practices

ABDIMALIK AHMED ALI
Board Secretary & Executive Director
Abdimalik is an accomplished project management professional with extensive experience in coordinating climate initiatives that enhance community resilience and promote sustainable practices. He is currently pursuing an MA in PP&M from the University of Nairobi, having previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the same University. Other trainings include, Resource Mobilization, Strategic management and leadership, Certification in Environmental Impact Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Data management and Analysis. His dedication to promoting policy changes that foster environmental protection and sustainability is underscored by his experience in environmental research, and Conducting Environmental Impact Assessments for both the Public and Private sector.

Chief Financial Officer
Fredrick has extensive expertise in corporate leadership, governance, and financial management. With a career spanning over a decade, he has held key positions that drive organizational success through strategic foresight and operational excellence. He holds an MBA in Finance from Kenyatta University, a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and is a Certified Public Accountant (K) and Certified Secretary (K). Additionally, he holds a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management (HNDHRM) and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Finance at Kabarak University. With 17 years of experience at the CFO level, Fredrick has a strong background in fund management. He has worked with Fairtrade International (Germany) and Producers Direct (UK) and has managed finances for projects such as soil testing and hailstone studies from Cranfield University (UK).
He has also overseen funds for women empowerment initiatives, health projects, the Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW) program, and the Farmers’ Voice Radio by the Lorna Young Foundation (UK), as well as projects funded by Taylors of Harrogate (UK). Fredrick also has extensive experience in environmental matters, having served as a group administrator for Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade audits—both of which focus on environmental.
DR. KENNETH KIVISI MBALI
Consultant & Head of Programs
Dr. Kenneth Kivisi Mbali is a distinguished academic and n consultant specializing in environmental governance and management. With a PhD from the University of Nairobi (2018) and an MA in International Studies from the University of Leeds (1991), he has dedicated his career to promoting environmental sustainability. Since 1994, he has served at the University of Nairobi, where he engages in both academic and administrative duties. His qualifications include being a certified Lead Auditor (ISO) with the Kenya Bureau of Standards, and he has expertise in scientific writing, PhD supervision, and solar photovoltaic systems. Dr. Mbali currently plays an active role in various professional organizations, such as the World Resources Institute and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network in Kenya. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Mbali is engaged in various consultancy projects aimed at enhancing local governance and environmental practices. His ongoing work includes the KISIP 2 Project in Baringo and Nandi Counties, the establishment of Chuka Municipality in Tharaka Nithi County, and a solarization initiative in Vihiga County. Dr. Mbali’s commitment to environmental sustainability extends to grassroots participation, where he advocates for sustainable practices that protect the environment for future generations
DR. SHAZIA CHAUDHRY
Technical Lead – Environment and Climate Change,
Dr. Shazia Chaudhry is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Diplomacy and International Studies (DDIS), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Nairobi, Kenya.
Dr. Chaudhry earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Punjab, Pakistan, and later obtained both her MA and Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Nairobi. Her doctoral research delved into the impacts of climate change, specifically examining anthropogenic factors and their effects on human security in Africa, with a particular focus on the Mau Forest Complex (1963-2012).
Her research interests are broad, encompassing climate change governance, global security issues, environmental conflicts, and environmental diplomacy. Dr. Chaudhry has contributed significantly to the field through numerous book chapters, articles, and research papers, often addressing the implications of human-induced climate change on vulnerable communities reliant on their environment.
Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Chaudhry is deeply committed to improving the welfare of underprivileged and vulnerable members of society, reflecting her dedication to both scholarly inquiry and social impact.
